Delete your account

In the app: open Settings → Account → Delete account and confirm. If you have no membership, the same option is at the bottom of the membership screen. Your account is deleted straight away.
Without the app: email support@makhaira.org from the address you sign in with, with the subject "Delete my Black Bay account". If you write from another address, include your username and we will confirm by emailing your sign-in address. We delete the account within 30 days and tell you when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your account, email address and username.
- Your profile: display name, bio, location and profile photo.
- Your posts, comments and likes, who you follow, and who follows you.
- Your listings and saved listings, and every photo you uploaded.
- Your conversations and direct messages, including the copies the other member could see.
- Sales you recorded or confirmed, and vouches you gave or received.
- Reports you filed, accounts you blocked, your notification settings and your devices' push tokens.
What is kept, and for how long
- Reports other members filed about you stay in the moderation record with your account removed from them, so they no longer identify you.
- Backups. Copies of deleted data can remain in encrypted database backups for up to 30 days, until they are overwritten.
- Purchase records. Google Play or Apple, which bill the membership, and RevenueCat, which tracks it for us, keep their records of your purchases under their own policies. RevenueCat knows your Black Bay account ID, not your name or email.
Delete some of your data and keep your account
You can remove things one at a time without deleting your account:
- Posts and listings: tap ••• on the post or listing and choose Delete.
- Comments and direct messages: long-press the comment or message and choose Delete.
- Profile photo, bio and location: open Edit profile, tap Remove photo or clear the field, and save. A removed photo is erased from storage.
- Likes and follows: tap the heart again to unlike, or Following on a profile to unfollow. Both are erased.
A deleted post, listing, comment or message disappears from the app for everyone straight away. We keep a hidden copy so that our moderators can still act on reports about it, and it is erased when you delete your account. To have specific items erased sooner, email support@makhaira.org from the address you sign in with and say which items. We erase them within 30 days, unless one is the subject of an open report, which we keep until the report is resolved.
Your subscription
Deleting your account does not cancel your membership. Cancel it in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions, or in your Apple ID's subscription settings, depending on where you bought it. Otherwise it keeps renewing.
